Heavy Ad Blocking

Blocking for ads with high file size and/or CPU.

Interstitials/ Pop-up

When an ad iframe is inserted into the page, we verify its parent divs’ size and z-index. If the size (width and height) is bigger than 95% of the page’s size and smaller than 105% of the page’s size and the z-index is set to an integer, we will flag it as a popup ad.

Invalid Dimensions - Ad Over Content

Ad quality block type for ads that serve over content, specifically if the size of an ad iframe is greater than the size of the ad slot or ad unit. Site testing required.

Invalid Dimensions - Large Image

We block when the image size is greater than the ad iframe size.

Sticky Ads

For sticky ads, we verify the position, top, bottom and z-index. If position is set to ‘fixed’, top or bottom is set to an integer and z-index is set to an integer, we flag it as a sticky ad and block it.

Muted Audio

Mute audio of autoplay video ad while allowing ad to serve.

Google HAI Refresh

Google will block ads that cross a certain size/CPU threshold and leave the ad slot blank. The Google HAI Refresh will render a new ad.

Empty Ad Refresh

Boltive identifies when an ad slot is blank and automatically triggers a refresh to quickly remonetize, giving publishers a new tool to ensure their sites are viewed as designed.

Verification Refresh

Boltive detects and refreshes the slot when an ad is blocked by these vendors, allowing the pub to control the creative that is delivered rather than a vendor’s house ad.
