This feature allows publishers to have specific keywords flagged when found within the image of a scanned ad. Through the use of image recognition and text extraction as part of Ad Lightning's scanning technology, denylist items can be flagged and reported on within the UI.
The first step taken to utilize this feature is to reach out to your Boltive account management team to request that image recognition be enabled on the backend. Currently, the standard scanning setup doesn't automatically have image recognition turned on. Once requested, you can begin to edit your Denylist for Scanning.
To edit, you will access Denylist Management for Scanning within the Settings section of the UI.
To add an image-text keyword for image recognition, you'll copy/paste the text below and insert the keyword within the parenthesis.
Copy/paste: creative_text:contains(KEYWORD)
To finalize the addition, you'll select 'Add'
Once added, image recogition will be in place so that when ads are scanned, it will search the text of the image. If the keyword is identified via the image recognition and text extraction, the ad will be flagged in our UI as a Denylist item.
Denylist items are signified as a black fireball symbol and will be marked as such within the 'Event' column of the Ads tab.
Once filtered by 'Denylist' in the Ads tab, you can change the view of the ads from a list/grid view to the 'Pinterest' view, which shows the images of the scanned ads.
Within this view, you'll be able to see the various ads flagged for containing aspects on your Denylist, including the image recognition keywords. To see more details on the flagged ads, you can select the eyeball icon when in the 'Pinterest' view, and from the list/grid view, you can select 'View Details' from the right rail, or from the bar graph icon in the 'Actions' column.
Once in the summary view of the scanned ad, you'll have access to the more granular details. Within the pink box is where you'll find information on the Denylist item that caused the flag.
Now that your Image Text items have been added to your custom Denylist for Scanning and are successfully being flagged in the UI, your next step might be to report on said flagged ads. The reporting can be sent internally, to agencies you are working with on direct campaigns, or to the Network Partner responsible for serving.
For more information on your reporting options for Denylist items, please access the help documentation for Reporting and Alerts.
