To opt-in or update your email address, simply click on "Settings" and navigate to the "Notifications" tab where you'll see a checkbox to automatically include new critical ads on network reports. Alerts are triggered every time a critical alert or malware is detected. To decrease the number of alerts you are receiving, simply increase your critical alert threshold in "Settings."
By default, this box will be checked, which will allow you to edit the rest of your internal and partner notification settings. You can set up as many relevant email addresses as you'd like. Once the email is added, by pressing the drop down in the corresponding row, you can select the type of alerts (Scanning and/or Blocking) you receive as well as the frequency (Live, Daily, Weekly).
Sample Notification: Blocking
There are 4 types of blocking notifications:
Blocking: Summary - Daily
Blocking: Summary - Weekly
Blocking: High Volume Hourly
Deactivated Blocked Signature Alert
Blocking Summary - Daily/Weekly have very similar formats and organize most blocked types, the number of blocked impressions per block type, and the % from all blocked items. This is a great option if you want holistic blocking data by day and/or week.
Blocking: High Volume Hourly - This notification will only be sent if we are seeing a spike in a specific signature. This could either alert to the need to block a signature farther upstream, or that it might be over blocking.
Deactivated Blocked Signature Alert - The specific alert is a fail-safe to protect your revenue and will only be sent if we have automatically deactivated a signature. This would only happen if a signature has spiked to be over 50% of blocked impressions in one hour. This alert is only sent to those who have opted into Blocking: High Volume Hourly notifications and the Ad Lightning team will be reaching out to find a more granular signature to prevent over blocking and revenue loss.
Sample Notification: Scanning
There are 3 types of scanning notifications:
Scanning: Malware & Redirect - Live
Scanning: Critical Alert - Daily/Weekly
Scanning: Analytics Report - Weekly
Internal Only - all of the scanning data etc.
The differences between these notifications are more subtle as each includes the following...
Notifications include:
The domain where the critical ad was detected
The total # of violations
A link to the Partner report that includes the ad
Screenshot(s) of the offending ad(s)
Event type (i.e. too many requests)
Scanning: Critical Alert - Daily/Weekly -
Scanning: Analytics Report Weekly -
Partner Notifications
You can also sign up your Network/Exchange/SSP Partners to receive alerts when critical ads are detected from their network. Simply select the network from the drop down list and add your account manager's (or other contact's) email address.
Like your personal alerts, emails will be sent every time a critical ad is added to their Partner Report.
