The first step will be for the user to install the extension from the Chrome Web Store as outlined. Any time they navigate your site they will have the option to interact with and give feedback on your ads, in real-time, from your site pages. Once an ad is reported, you can receive an alert, review the feedback, and analyze the data. Here's how it works!

User's Perspective

While browsing your site, there will be verbiage below the ad with an option to 'Report ad'.

Once clicked, the Report Ad Modal will surface. The modal will include 4 reporting options that the user can select.

For any of the options selected, a user can choose to leave 'Additional Information'. If 'Other' is selected, a user must leave his/her input before submitting the report.

Once submitted, the user will have confirmation that the report was successfully submitted.

Alerting

For directions on how to sign-up for automatic Alerts via the UI, please access this documentation. Specifically for Report An Ad alerts (categorized as "User Blocked"), select 'Blocking Summary: Daily or Weekly' to receive the recap of user reported ads.

Reporting

Details of all ads reported can be found in the Ad Lightning UI for you to analyze. To access this data is located in the Blocking tab of our UI. From there, you'll 'Filter' by the Block Type.

Once filtered by 'User Blocked', you'll see the 'Signature' column will display one of the 4 options the user was able to choose from in the Report Ad Modal, 'Source' of the block/report will be 'User', and the 'Blocked' column will be sorted by the total for each line item. On the right rail, you can see the trend of the user blocks, broken out by date.

To access more granular reporting, you can select the 'View Details' option, or the graph icon in the 'Action' column.

After accessing the Ad Details Summary page, you are able to read the specific comment the user left as 'Additional Information' in the Report Ad modal at the time of the report. You are able to see more information from the 17 user reports by selecting 'All Samples' in the top right corner of the Summary page.

If you'd like to explore more of the user comments, you can select the graph icon in the 'Action' column of the individual line items.

Finally, if you'd like to send a public URL report of this to anyone on your team internally, to the DFP Company who served the ad(s), or to the folks at Ad Lightning, you can learn how with the Creating Partner Reports help document.
