Is the Ad Lightning Video Product right for you?

If you use VAST Tags, formatted as either a VAST URL or an XML file, our solution will help you quickly and easily QA your videos by catching errors and out of spec ads.

Not sure if the tags you have will work in our tool? Look for these two key items:

  • The media files should be included so that our technology can scan the actual assets.

  • A node in the VAST response called “VASTAdTagURI” should not be present. (This calls a third party to perform an analysis and, from there, deliver the media assets if their environment checks pass.)

How It Works
You can submit your tags to be scanned in two ways:

  • Online form - This method is best if you have a few tags.

  • API - Use this option if you have a larger number of tags to be scanned. See our API Tag Scanning documentation for details.

Online Form
Start by navigating to the video tag scanning page by selecting "Tag Scans" from our top level Navigation and then scrolling down to "Video Ads."

Note:  If you do not see this option that means video tags are not enabled for your profile. Please reach out to your account manager to have this added.

Now that you are on the Video Tag Scans page, you can start entering the tags you would like to scan.

Step 1 - Click the "Submit New Tags" button

Step 2 - Enter your tags, including:

  • Description - Add a description for your Tag. (max 250 Characters)

  • Tag Source - Add the video ad tag you would like to scan. We support VAST XML or a Tag URL

  • Click the "Evaluate Tags" button.

Note:  If you have more than one tag to be scanned, click "add another tag" and repeat the process.

Step 3 - Refresh to see your results
Each tag that is scanned is returned as a new row in the scan results table.
Note: To ensure you are looking at all your scans, if you see the status bar click "Refresh" if your browser does not automatically update the page with your results.

Video Scan Results Table
For each tag scanned, you will find the results presented in a new row in the table with summary level information that includes.
       a) Description - this is the name you created (see Step 2)
       b) Created - The date and time the tag was scanned

       c) Metrics - The next set of columns includes ad details including: Length in seconds, dimensions, bitrate, size in kb, load time, errors, media type, ad type, source, trackers and SSL %.
       d) Action - Click on the eye icon  for details.  Click the trashcan icon to delete.

Video Tag Details Page

       d) Creative URL - The URL for the actual media file
