Ad Lightning is committed to supporting our partners to seamlessly launch the ADL blocking wrapper. The following checklist helps guide the testing and launch process to ensure that any impact to your live site is minimized.
Step 1: Generate the ad unit markup and send to ADL for testing
By creating a test ad slot, ADL can test and verify functionality in a controlled environment before pushing code client's test page or live site. To do this:
Create a test ad slot within DFP and enable demand partners that need to be wrapped and tested.
Enable the ADL wrapper for the new ad slot.
Provide the tag to ADL for testing.
The ADL team will review and test the wrapper to confirm everything is working as expected.
Discuss direct campaigns and custom creatives with ADL to ensure that they are properly allowlisted.
Step 2: Controlled Environment Test
Push wrapper live to a controlled test environment (typically a single ad slot) and provide the pages, slots or urls to ADL for review. It's important to document and test any custom creatives during the process including units like wallpaper and pushdowns.
ADL and Client will review to ensure there are no obvious issues impacting delivery.
Client will need to verify impressions, revenue and viewabilty reports to ensure data looks as expected after a 24 hour period and again after a week.
Step 3: Site Rollout
Once ADL & Client have signed off on the controlled test, the ADL wrapper can be slowly rolled out across remaining inventory. It's important to notify ADL before pushing the code live.
Client should verify impressions, revenue and viewabilty reports to ensure data looks as expected after a 24 hour period and again after a week.
ADL will continue to QA and review internal reporting to ensure delivery looks as expected.
